The Central European Cancer Center of the WPK stands for interdisciplinary and interprofessional diagnosis and treatment of cancer according to the latest state of medical science. As one of the most important private centers for cancer diagnostics and cancer treatment, the specialists working at the Central European Cancer Center are internationally recognized and hold important positions in international cancer societies.

This ensures that patients treated at the Central European Cancer Center at the WPK have access to the most modern and best diagnostic, surgical and internal oncological methods currently available in the world.

Molecular Diagnostics

Molecular diagnostics have become a key element of modern cancer treatment. Analyses are performed either on tumor tissue or on tumor-derived components circulating in the blood — known as liquid biopsy, which allows tumor changes to be monitored easily over the course of the disease through a simple blood draw.

Because molecular markers often provide deeper insights into tumor behavior than traditional tissue findings, they open new therapeutic possibilities. Targeted therapies developed in recent years are effective only when specific molecular alterations are present.

The Molecular Tumor Board at Wiener Privatklinik evaluates these findings in an interdisciplinary setting, interprets relevant alterations, and recommends individualized targeted therapies — even in complex clinical scenarios.
