Thanks to the use of mammography, the more than 1.3 million new cases of breast cancer detected each year can usually be detected at a very early stage and have excellent treatment success rates. In over 75% of all women with the disease, a medical cure is possible.

An der Wiener Privatklinik erfolgt die Behandlung von Brustkrebs (Mammakarzinom) nach einem modernen, multimodalen Therapiekonzept. Im Zentrum steht eine individuell abgestimmte Kombination aus Operation, Strahlentherapie und anschließender systemischer Therapie. Diese kann – je nach Tumorbiologie – eine Chemotherapie, eine Antihormontherapie sowie zielgerichtete Therapien wie etwa mit dem Antikörper Herceptin umfassen. Ziel ist es, jeder Patientin eine personalisierte, möglichst schonende und zugleich hochwirksame Behandlung zu bieten – basierend auf neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen und interdisziplinärer Expertise.

At Wiener Privatklinik, every breast cancer case is treated by a tumor board consisting of specialists in oncology, radiotherapy, surgery, gynecology, thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, urology, radiology and pathology. The resulting treatment recommendation is passed on to the patient and the further course of action is discussed together and ultimately decided by the patient herself.
