Breast cancer

Thanks to the use of mammography, the more than 1.3 million new cases of breast cancer detected each year can usually be detected at a very early stage and have excellent treatment success rates. In over 75% of all women with the disease, a medical cure is possible.

Individual breast cancer therapy at the highest level

At the Vienna Private Clinic, breast cancer (mammary carcinoma) is treated using a modern, multimodal therapy concept. The focus is on an individually tailored combination of surgery, radiation therapy, and subsequent systemic therapy. Depending on the tumor biology, this may include chemotherapy, anti-hormone therapy, and targeted therapies such as the antibody Herceptin. The aim is to offer each patient personalized treatment that is as gentle as possible and at the same time highly effective, based on the latest scientific findings and interdisciplinary expertise.

Prof. Dr. Florian Fitzal

At Wiener Privatklinik, every breast cancer case is treated by a tumor board consisting of specialists in oncology, radiotherapy, surgery, gynecology, thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, urology, radiology and pathology. The resulting treatment recommendation is passed on to the patient and the further course of action is discussed together and ultimately decided by the patient herself.
