Sarcomas

Sarcomas (from the Greek sarkos = flesh) are malignant tumors that develop from bone, cartilage, connective, muscle or fatty tissue. They account for less than two percent of all cancers – but are often aggressive and therefore require specialized, multidisciplinary treatment.

Multidisciplinary therapy for the best possible prognosis

The treatment of sarcomas is usually based on a combined approach: in addition to so-called “wide” surgical removal, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or modern immunotherapies are also used, depending on the type and stage of the tumor. This multidisciplinary approach requires an experienced team of specialists.

The Vienna Private Clinic offers patients with sarcomas precise diagnostics and individually tailored treatment options – with the aim of sustainably improving the chances of recovery. An interdisciplinary tumor board consisting of experts from a wide range of disciplines is available for this purpose. It develops a customized therapy for each patient in accordance with international standards – for maximum medical safety and the best possible quality of life.
